Intro to Rug Punch Needle. Punch needle is the "upside down" version of rug hooking. It's fun, fast, and worked primarily with yarn (although other things can be used, too). Learn the basics of Punch Needle as you work on a small (10" x 10"). Punch needles and Punching Frames will be provided for use in class. A wide variety of materials will be available. Choose 1 of several pre-drawn patterns. This class is LIMITED to 8 people, so don't delay signing up when one is offered!
KIDS' Rug Punch Needle Project. We have a special class for kids ages 9 to 13 using equipment just their size! They will draw (or transfer) their design to monks cloth, put the cloth on a punch needle frame, and punch their own design to fit in an embroidery hoop and hang on their wall. A fun time will be had by all!
Intro to RugHooking. Rug Hooking is a uniquely American craft born of necessity for rugs and heavy bed coverings and now as a fun and creative craft. Strips of wool fabric and yarn are hooked in a background of Scottish Linen. The result can be a beautiful floor rug or a wall hanging! In this class, our result will be a square about the size of a hot pad. Students will choose from several available designs. All the tools and supplies will be provided.
