Eat thy bread with joy!

Name Draft Bread Cloths. Ecclesiastes 9:7 says: "Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works." This was my source of inspiration for these name draft bread cloths. It sounded so easy. Assign letters of the alphabet to each of the harnesses of your loom. Add incidental threads when necessary and voila! You have your threading order. Tie up your treadles (somehow) and come up with a treadling plan (somehow) and the next thing you know you'll have a wonderful piece of completely original cloth!
Oh, if it were only so! I must have run through 20 combinations on my weaving software before I hit on a combination that resulted in a pattern I liked. And the first sample I wove with that first pattern went straight to the trash because it contained some very long floats that I had not realized would occur looking at the image on the computer. And so I started over. Now by this time, I already had my 9 yards of yarn (I think big with some projects) wound on to my loom. So changing the threading meant I had to thread the heddles from back to front, and then sley the reed from back to front. It wasn't easy - my loom is not particularly set up to be threaded in this manner - but I went slowly and all was well that ends well.

When I get the chance, hopefully some time soon, I will post the pattern in case this is a project you would like to try. I will also post a link to some reference material regarding name drafting. For now, however, I still have 5 yards of yarn to weave off!
