Annual Retreat

2013 Winter Fiber Fun Retreat | February 14-17, 2013

Each year in February, FancyFibers sponsors a Winter Fiber Fun retreat getaway in north Texas that is open to anyone who enjoys any sort of fiber-related craft.  Spinners, knitters, crocheters, felters, dyers, and weavers, with needles, hooks,  jars of colored magic, and looms come together to relax, revitalize and play!

This year we are THRILLED to have Alissa Barton, the Knitting Fairy, join us as a workshop instructor and co-sponsor of the Retreat for the 2nd year!

Alissa is well known in and outside of Texas for her beautiful patterns and her fun and engaging teaching style. Her knowledge about knitting is extensive, and we are pleased that she’ll be joining us!

For 2012, we are also thrilled to be able to offer our annual retreat at the brand new Tally Retreat Center located at Camp Copass in Denton, Texas.

This state-of-the-art facility will allow us to expand our class offerings and welcome new people while still relaxing and rejuvenating in a beautiful wooded setting.

In addition to visiting with old friends, making new ones, relaxing, and practicing your favorite fiber craft, there are several optional activities that you can choose to participate in (or not).  Examples of activities we have offered in the past include dyeing roving and yarn, paper making, knitting socks and hats, making jewelry, felting, and blending fiber on a drum carder.  The activities are different each year, but always a lot of fun!

Vendors are also a part of the Retreat, offering the discriminating fiber artist a dazzling array of beautiful fibers, yarn, and fiber craft accessories.
