The goat in the wagon in this picture is Cookie.

The goat in this picture is Zoe, Cookie’s mother.

They are so much alike that it is uncanny!  It really makes me wonder if kids learn personality traits from their nannies!

For example, they are both mischievous.  Zoe’s favorite food in the entire world is hard, crunchy, dog food.  She stands watch over the dogs’ bowls when they are eating, and pounces as soon as they step away to grab a bite or two before they come back, barking, and run her off.  She is the ONLY goat I have that likes dog food, and she likes it so much that she puts herself in danger to get it!

Cookie is ALWAYS jumping on top of the hay wagon!  None of the other kids even ever try.  As soon as I come through the gate with the hay, she is right there, ready to ride on top.  And ride she does, like a drunk sailor trying to keep her footing on a wind-tossed sea, she stays on top until a swish of my hand scoots her off.

These goats have so much personality! and they are all so different from one another!

It’s really quite amazing …..

My Nigerian Dwarf goat, Bella LOVES dog food. She scarfs mouthfuls whenever she can sneak some before the dog chases her off. I thought goats were vegetarians! Thanks for the pics and stories.
