Friday Morning on the Farm
I slept in this morning. So to punish myself, I had to feed and do my morning chores before breakfast and coffee.
Here’s what was going on ….
I cleaned the floor of the Big Loafing Shed.
The sheep took turns looking in at my progress as if to ask, “Are you done yet?”
They wanted to come back inside in the shade!
There was some snacking going on …
And some announcements being made …
There were animals doing their jobs ….
Others were just trying to find a breeze!
What is it about this bench that is so comfy?
Now that I’ve had my coffee, I’m off to process some fiber!

I know fiber farming is a LOT of work, but you have a way of making it sound so relaxing. The animals appear to know their job(s) and just do it. I love all your pictures. I can’t wait to close on my country place in mid August. Then I will need to decide what to do with the barn and other out buildings. Right now, I am saying this is to be a relaxing weekend/long weekend/week-at-a-time/vacation place, but – who knows? I may soon decide that in the country is the place to be.
LOL, Linda! Not exactly relaxing, but at least enjoyable! I’ve worked pretty much every day of my life for the last 37 years, and even though this is physically hard work, I’m loving every minute of it!
Love all the animals! The photo of them in the same pen is really cool.
My goats think they’re alpacas, and the whole group hangs out in the chicken coop during the day because our primary breeze is from the south and it blows in on them through the chicken wire. The chickens get even, though, by helping the alpacas eat their food every morning!
Great photos!
Thanks, Joanne. I could take pictures of the animals all day. I just love watching them go about their daily routines. The big rooster is my favorite. He’s even more beautiful in person, and the younger rooster is catching up to him. They are both just gorgeous.
