Ken, Mary & The Farm

Fancy Fibers Farm is a family farm where Mary raises alpacas, goats, sheep, and rabbits for their beautiful fibers and Ken raises pastured, cage-free chickens for fun and fresh eggs.

We invite you to become a part of our farm by visiting or working with us and our animals, through our CSA, or by purchasing our products online, at craft festivals, or in our Farm Store.

Come try your hand at being a fiber farmer! We look forward to your company!

Today it was the alpacas’ turn to eat the grass in the backyard.  That wasn’t exactly by design, but more because a few of them took advantage of the fact that I didn’t shut the gate quite quickly enough when I was bringing the wagon full of feed sacks through.

At first, there were only a few.

Then the others figured out what was going on, and decided to join them.

By the time I stopped dragging the wagon and turned around, more were IN the backyard than not, so I figured I might as well let them stay!

After all, for some reason (it’s not like we fertilize or anything), our backyard has the best grass on the place!

Bear (with his new neckware) had to join them and supervise of course.

My phone was dead, so The Welder’s DD#2 (my neice) snapped these shots with her cell phone.

The goats weren’t going to let the alpacas have all the good grass, so they joined in on the fun.

Everyone left with green lips.  Mmm-Mmm-Good!
