Makenna's Baby Blankets After grandbaby Makenna was born, I
decided to experiment with baby blankets! The turquoise blanket is
a waffle weave (like the towels you see on another page, but bigger!).
The more pink-n-purple blanket is a cotton multi-colored warp, with
a thin-and-thick cotton multicolored weft. It was threaded so that
there would be a pattern to the blanket, but between the different
colors, and the thin-and-thick texture, the pattern was not visible
at all. Lesson learned: patterns work better with solid colors
and get lost with multi-colored yarn. Makenna's mom tells me that Makenna
doesn't seem to mind, though!
